I came right out of school at roadmaster to tmc. Dealing with all the load and strapping is not that bad. I am making the a lot more money doing flatbed than if I was making 26 cents a mile cuz that is a joke. I hear everyone say you can make more money doing van and refer but u are going to driving everyday for hours pulling around 700 to 800 miles a day if really lucky. I have talk to a few people I went to school with and I am making twice as much as the and I don't have to wait 6 months to a year for a raise either.

My husband recently went to work for TMC, after his many years as a trucker, he believes it has been his worst move ever! He is looking for a good flat bed company if there is any.

..I would have to agree, at least reading the 'MAVERICK..from a wifes perspective' thread; so far the only real complaints are about some of the loading/unloading at the shippers/receivers which happens with any carrier you work for.. since leaving COVENENT they seem happy with the move & no major complaints with MAVERICK yet.. even paid him for 320 miles to a receiver but needed a WIIC(?) card to unload & didn't have one, so they rerouted him to transfer the load with another driver & got paid for the miles anyway; well it was their mistake they didn't remind him to get the card he needed b4 that delivery.. anyway these problems seemed to get worked out which is all a driver can ask for... so he's been keeping busy, getting miles & not having any major problems with dispatch; so far so good it seems.. oh i forgot to mention he did have problems with his truck, seems it doesn't have much power on hills & he's hoping he will be getting a newer one soon, but that's seems to be his only major gripe so far..

yall can talk bad about TMC all u want those are just isolate cases, ive been here for a while and there is no way they make u do anything that u dont want to do or put ur safety at risk.all u drivers that been in training are too scared to ask for new tires,lights.....etc
im just sick and tired about all those comments, just cause u cant stand up for yourself that dosent mean the company is like that at all.
there is no perfect company but give me a brake just cause everybody is jealous cause their equipment and freight, that dont mean nothing.ive been hearing for many years now every spring "TMC is going under, they are closing their doors..."etc yeah right .im still here going strong, just cause it didnt work out for u that dosent mean it wont work for others.
WAKE UP PEOPLE BE REALISTIC,im just a driver i dont get paid to say those things about TMC but they pay for my house, all my bills.a company is WHAT U MAKE OUT OF IT.
peace all im out -
