I think that 750/850 is the guarantee, not the gross pay that you will be earning.

And the insurance companies are going to require driver facing cameras in all of our trucks before long, especially hazmat trucks.

 

The first thing they will do is declare that particular driver uninsurable.

 

Depends on if they watch the camera all the time or have access to it all the time or just download it after an accident .

if they have female drivers I can smell a lawsuit already for the driver managers or dispatchers watching it all the time.
I know a guy that works for an equipment rental place as a mobile mechanic ,

he got fired for not wearing his seatbelt.

while he was backing out of the garage into the parking lot. . .

I know of several places that offer weekly minimum pay,
They are having to start doing that to keep drivers from leaving if they have a few slow weeks.

place my nephew drives for started paying $500 a week if they don’t have work.
Although I suspect it’s part of the fedgov PPP thing and not out of the companies pocket
And having to call on twice a day is pretty common. Stupid , but common .

 

I got a young man that's living with my niece a job with a tire recap co. that had some road service. 1ton trucks, he got sent out in a truck with cam. pointing at him, as he was driving to a truck with the R tires on trailer blow out he wanted to smoke a cig. l told him how to handle the cam. and to do a tire ck. when he was around back of truck with tire air ck. in his hand to light up then and only then, with his head down ck. the inside tire, light it up and it worked it worked for many mo. but one day he lit up inside the cab and fri. was his last day pay ck. with them but he learned how to handle the big super singles and all the ways to fix tires on the side of rd. to get the trucks off the big road so he got a job with a big co. with no cam. and was able to bring truck home after a few wk.
