Oh I figured. I keep it cycled with the switch to keep the temp down. Just a nit pick item I'd like to get working correctly

So Im learning that with warmer weather my truck runs 195-205*. Makes me a little nervous, and with the fan clutch going south, it makes me a little more nervous. Pretty sure it has 195 deg thermostats, so might be time to swap them out for 180 deg ones, just to make me feel better.

Why not just fix the fan clutch? How exactly is your fan clutch “going bad”? Don’t they just stay on when they go bad?

Oh its getting replaced next weekend. My mechanic pointed it out that it was wobbling slightly when I picked it up from getting tires and the air dryer.cke, Eldiablo, Lysdexis and 1 other person Thank this.

One of your temp sensors goes to the guage and one goes to the ecm. Your ecm sensor may not be reading correctly or have a broken wire going to the ecm. You can look up the pinout on the ecm and ohm out the wire going to the sensor. I don't know what file is in your ecm. Different files have a different fan on setting. I think 550 and below are like 206 but don't quote me. I know mine is like 216. Usually loaded I just flip the switch. If I forget the high temp alarm will yell at me.singlescrewshaker, cke, Flint1 and 7 others Thank this.

I've got a sensor that points forward tucked behind the ac. Another sensor I pointed out the other day that comes off the top and one more that is for the mechanical gauge that's been put in. Trying to figure out which one goes where.
Freightliner says its the one behind the ac that the ecm uses. I've got a pinout of the ecm here so it's just figuring out which plug on the engine is the correct oneAttached Files:

I don’t know if you know it or not, but if the fan clutch grenades, there’s a pretty good chance that it will destroy the radiator. Just saying.singlescrewshaker, beastr123, cke and 8 others Thank this.
