Good Night From II

went back to terminal and spent .5 hour b4 qc finally turned on.
logged on duty to do delivery and losttrip. did the Mac 32 then logged off duty.
certified logs then logged off the qc.

 

I'm at home until Wednesday, and I just put a 24 pound turkey in the oven for tonight's dinner.
YUM!!!

 

Sometimes things just don't work out as planned.

Coming off home time I was given a Costco load to Omaha.
They were a bit backed up and didn't have an mt for me so I had to wait to be live unloaded, including waiting during their lunch/dinner break.

Considering the place I am picking up next (Purina in Crete, NE) I can only manage an 11 hour break tonight.
So sad... too bad. I feel rushed now, and I don't like that.
The last time I was there it took 45 minutes just to get to the gate.
And that load is also going to Amazon in Joliet, IL.
The last one I took there with a 1100 live unload appointment they didn't get me out of there until 2030!

Counsel Bluffs, IA tonight, and I have some home made turkey soup that my sister made for dinner.
So it isn't all bad.

 

3 days with this new zonar tablet.
navigation really sux. might have to break down and get a GPS.
as with computers it's gonnaa take a bit to get used to it

I'm not looking forward to getting one.
Hopefully not until my next truck.

 

I got to Nestle Purina at 0900 this morning and there were no trucks in line.
I was shocked.
Then I was told that they didn't have an mt to preload my trailer so it would have to be a live load.
Over 5 hours later I was finally loaded.

I am not looking forward to delivering a late live unload to Amazon tomorrow either.
That could take a while.
Even getting there on time took 9.5 hours last time.
If it does go south I will probably turn down this run if it comes my way again.
Nothing but trouble on both ends, so far.

 

Amazon went a bit better today.
I only had to wait 1.5 hours to get a door, and only 3 hours to unload.
Half the time of the last one, but it should be better IMO.

I was stacked with a Costco load out of Morris going to Saint Louis, MO, then from Jacksonville, IL to the Walmart DC in Ottawa, KS.
The Costco load cancelled, but I still retained the Walmart load.

other driver didn't get a load, so I Tcalled the load at pheonix terminal yesterday.
driver leader said I should get back as far as I could just in case he got a load today.
I got back as far as exit off i10 b4 the 215 freeway.
got parked on a side street with 5 minutes left on 11.
takes me 5h27m to get to pheonix terminal but somehow can not replicate the trip back.
he did t get a load today. so I Tcalled the load I got from pheonix terminal to jurupa terminal and grabbed my next load there.
Will leave in the morning.
so came home for the nite

 

I'm just outside Baxter, MN at a rest area.
After delivering to the Costco there I came here to wait for my next load. Nothing yet.
A weekend in northern MN doesn't bode well.
