Always thought that it was kind of like the Twilight Zone but acupuncture did it for me. 3 pack a day smoker for 26 years. Best description is - $80 dollars and twenty minutes and I was a non smoker. Zero cravings. Weirdest thing that ever happened to me.

Never smoked regularly but did used to love my Copenhagen.

Quit that by switching to Nicorette gum, the gum raised hell with my stomach worse than the Copenhagen did.

After about 2 years on the gum discovered the Zyn packets, those things are awesome.

So I quit tobacco but not nicotine. Can still smell when someone opens a can of Copenhagen from about a mile away. Would honestly rather get my nicotine fix anymore from the nicotine pouches vs real chew though.

Woke up one day and quit. Honestly that simple. Missed it a few days, felt irritable for a week or so and then it was gone. Don’t miss it. It’s not the easiest thing in life you’ll do but it’s honestly not the hardest either.

Buy a e-cigarettes. Suck those down until they no longer satisfy. Buy a dewsh flute. Buy the lowest strength e-juice. Suck on that until it is no longer satisfying. Up the e-juice to the maximum you can buy. When no longer satisfying, start blending your own e-juice, adding ever increasing amounts of nicotine. When no longer satisfying, buy one of those brick-size dewsh flutes, the ones that make you look like a WWII destroyer putting out a smoke screen. Increase nicotine in your home brew e-juice until your heart palpitates with every draw.

Look at yourself in the mirror sucking on your dewsh flute. Realize how dewshy you look. Be embarrassed that you did your dewsh flute in front of other people. Be overwhelmed with shame. Quit right then and there.

My Dad quit smoking when cigs went from $.75 a pack to $1.00 a pack.

When I was 19 I started smoking, 2 or 3 packs a week, my parents didn't pay much attention as I worked in a restaurant with several smokers. My HS GF and I had broken up, she came home for Christmas break from college and discussed getting back together, we went to movie, afterwards while outside talking with some friends, I lit up, she was shocked. When we got back to her Mom's, she gave me an ultimatum, her or the cigs, I said I'd think about it. The next night, we were going to huge fancy party, when I picked her up, she was wearing a really sexy, revealing dress. She asked if I made a choice yet, I said no, she said then the dress wasn't for me and ignored me all night. When we got back to her Mom's, we were sitting on the couch talking, I didn't realize she'd grabbed my cigs from the car, as I was getting ready to go home, she unzipped the dress and let it slip aside, then held up the cigs and told me to make a choice, I let her toss the pack of cigs in the hot fireplace. 35 yrs later, I still on a rare occasion enjoy the occasional cig or cigar, but at this point it's maybe 3 or 4 a year.

It takes a long time for the craving to supside. Good job by the way on your progress.
I did not use a external product because your just replacing one addiction for another.
My approach is not to quit for a long term, just don't have the one you want right now, the future will take care of the rest one at a time as you continue to say no to the one. I did a few times find myself buying a pack, and stop and remind myself I'm no longer a smoker, and I'm not going to smoke this cig right now. It did work in the long run, you will get over sensitive to others smoking, you have to just walk on by, one at a time. No matter what it's easier than breathing thru a tube. I actually hung a piece if 1/4 plastic tubing from my drivers side sunvisor.

I’m glad I never smoked when I was younger. I’ll never have to face the mental battle to quit.

It’s hard enough to keep ones appetite in check to avoid becoming a blob.
