Pull a step deck. Have only run open deck trailers for 20+ years.
Today I was at a shipper, the load was nothing special, a lumber load, actually a house kit.
They had a few things going on at the place. They also had a small problem with the kit, took like 20 minutes to fix. The Owner of the company walked over and apologized for the delays and problems. Then asked If I had eaten anything today. I replied to his question. ( had a snack) 10 minutes later he brings out a sack lunch for me. Sandwich on home baked bread, cheese crackers and home baked chocolate chip cookies and coffee.
Why would anyone want to pull flatbed trailers?

Do equipment haulers mess up? Yes, but in proportion to box van mileage drivers not nearly as much.
Ill take my time and get there safe with no problem, on time is their problem if they scheduled it too tight.
God prefers deisels has a post on his ifta, q1 is 21k miles, thats about what i run, 1600 miles a week. Im not starving. If you HAVE to make miles to make money, i dont know what to tell you other than i dont think thats a wise model to follow.Brettj3876, Gearjammin' Penguin, PoleCrusher and 2 others Thank this. -
2 LESSONS in not being so broke one cannot PAY ATTENTION!!
I had "sudden braking challenges" but since I used an excessive amount of Straps (on Tarps) and Chains (on Coils), I was not concerned about restructuring the Tractor and My Self.

Truck driver swam to shore after driving into pond, troopers say
Appears strangely obvious as to Improper Load Securement, yet in this Case it's irrelevant.
Good to see Driver survived.

Trucker survives after steel coil crashes into cab
Watching the Video opened up the use of STRAPS to "secure" the Coil(s) with maybe "a chain"??
It's Good Driver Wasn't Injured, so Driver can hopefully reflect on WHY COIL MOVED!!
Oh, Right, Sorry, Silly Me, It's a Covered Wagon so no Securement Needed.
