Sunshine, You are correct in your assumption! I am working for another tanker company in this area now and have yet to see but 1 or 2 trucks from further south passing through here. I haven't seen one out of this area so far and do deliver within a couple of miles of their yard. I haven't seen another ad for drivers as of this time.

I am so glad you won that case. I am not doing to good on my unemployment case. We had the second appeal on the the phone. Man they lie so dam much. This man has to be stopped. I am going for my third appeal, I wonder what more lies he has to say. So how is it with the company you are at. Like I said thumbs up on your win.

Ive been at Dist Tech for 8 yrs now. I stay only because the pay is good. I'm near the top of the totum pole so I'm not starving like a new guy would. First off the pay. If you haul checmicals your paid .28 empty, .45 loaded and a $22 unload first hour pay. If it takes less then an hour they'll pro-rate it. If you haul ad-mix for concrete, your paid by the hub, and depending on your terminal it could be anywhere from .37 to .42 per mile. The trucks are set at "62"mph, but if you've got less rubber on your tires you'll max at 60. Most of these trucks have the Detroit Series 60s in um, but they have them turned down from the 500 hp they are to around 400 to "save fuel". 401k is offered, but there is NO COMPANY MATCH, what you put in is all you'll have. Medical is about on par with the rest of the companies, for the family plan I pay about $350/mo. There are NO bonuses, NO incentives (new guy is paid same as senior driver). There has not been a pay raise in 5 yrs, and its been said that nothing will change anytime soon. I'm a trainer, and I would advise NOONE to come work for this company! Sad thing is that 2 yrs ago it wasn't like this. Perhaps if things change i'd have a different outlook on this company, but till then I'll tell it like it is.
Baack Thanks this. -
Any updates fellas? How's DistTech now? I wish they'd hire me!

Freightliner Guy, here's some updates...
Dist Tech was bought out by Keenan Advantage Group (KAG) last year. Just prior to this Dist Tech got the authority to haul Admixture for Grace Chemical, Sika, Eukled, and as they always have BASF(master builders) giving them about 95% of all admixture moved on the US. The pay rate is still the same, but the trucks have been turned up to a whole 65, not great but far better then what they were. If you go to the Dist Tech website you can fill out an application there. Not sure what your expecting with this company but you could do way worse. I've been here for 10yrs so that should say something. The equipment is the same 07(ish) freightliners, and most of the older trucks have been sold off. Not sure where your out of but depending on what you haul and how close you live to a terminal you could make it home a few times a week. I see that some people have had a bad experience with this company, and I'm sure you'll see that with ANY company, but I find it hard to believe they only "worked" 18-20hrs a week, ESPECIALLY out of the Reynolds Terminal. At the time they were there I believe the manager was Jennifer, and she was fare about dividing up the loads. If that was all they were getting them either they were turning down runs it just a ###### worker. In short Dist Tech is not a bad place to work, but it's that great either, you can go work for JB Hunt or one of those bigger companies, be gone for weeks on end and make WAY less then you will here. I made $72,000 last year working for Dist Tech, how about you?Kapn Thanks this. -
Thanks a lot! I live about 2 miles from one of their terminals in Ohio.. I wish they'd hire me.. I applied we'll see what they say...

I work at terminal in S Ohio and it was good at first but I wouldnt tell anyone to go to work for them. It is the pits. 2 maybe 3 loads a week if Im lucky. Most are less than 250 miles. ####_est equipment I have ever had. I would have quit 6 months ago but its so nice being home 3-4 days a week. On a good week only avg. about 400-500 a week.
