Well ... that's good Gas Hauler ... at least ways, nobody ever died from laughter. Sometimes, if you laugh hard enough you can step back from a situation and see the absurdities and ironies of what had you completely befuddled.
Stay Chilly my friend

Mike: Not sure, but you sound like you just started. Something that has always worked for me, even with my boss now at the local job. I do NOT work for the company, I work for ME, they just happen to set me up with what I need to do my job. I work to earn money for my family, not to put money in the bosses pocket. Sounds weird, but if you think about it, that is why we work. My boss is a millionaire. He is a good guy if you do not catch him in a bad mood. It is a good company, that treats us right, but, again, I do not work FOR them, I work AT their place of business, for ME. We may or may not be the face of the company, but you ARE the face of your profession. Think of it this way perhaps: I am also a full time Pastor/Church Planter. I may be the only Bible someone ever sees. Does that make me special? No, but it better teach me to be CAREFUL. I drive local, deliver to the same two customers every day, have for the last 5 years. I was out of work a few weeks ago after some surgery, I got two calls from folks at one of the factories, to make sure I was alright. The Supervisor calls me at home occasionally, to see if I can move some trailers or something extra in the morning. (note, they didn't call dispatch) Now, why is that? They know the salesman they talk to dispatch, so why call me? Because, like you said, WE are the image of the company in some cases, but, for me, I am the image of ME, a professional driver, who someone trusts enough to give me the equipment I need to do my job.
Do I have bad days? Sure, everyone does, the trick is to work through it without it showing like a billboard. Remember, no one can rent space in your head, that you do not allow to do it.
Hope this helps ya.Mike_NC Thanks this.
