How long do you gotta be with the company before you can transfer to a different state/terminal I just started but was curious on when one can transfer if the other terminal has an opening too.
-
One year, yes, if there is an opening.
-
I think someone on this thread said that if you transfer terminals, you lose your seniority as it relates to bid runs, but you don't lose your seniority as it relates to your pay scale and your vacation time and years with the company. Meaning you'de probably have to go extraboard if you switched terminals until you could bid for a run again.
Don't quote me on that though (and please correct me if I'm wrong, I might be remembering wrong). -
Not quite, you just can't bid on a run, for I think, 3 months. So yes, your more than likely extraboard for at least those first 3 months. You keep your seniority and pay scale.BeHereNow97 Thanks this.

You lose seniority IF YOU TRANSFER DIVISIONS. (Like P&D to LINEHAUL, Hub to city, etc)
If you transfer, your seniority is suspended 90 days and then you get it back AS LONG AS YOU DON'T TRANSFER DIVISIONS!BeHereNow97 and 59EX Thank this. -
Also there are no exception or loop holes to transferring to a different state if you have under a year of service with them?
-
Nope. You have to have A YEAR WITH THE COMPANY before you transfer. I think you lose the job altogether if you leave your original terminal, move somewhere else, and try to come back. Don't quote me on this.Texas_hwy_287 Thanks this.

Almost two hours last night looking for a MT. Both 41 and 141. Couldn't find any pups, then couldn't even find a van. That's me and couple of other drivers. They ended up pulling some MT vans off the dock and after looking for a set of trailers that central gave me @41 that apparently didn't exist, I finally got a loaded van going back to Marietta. Man I was ill as hell, 50 miles from going home and stuck walking around the yard for hours looking for trailers.
And I was about to post how that terminal ain't that bad too. lolstanleyds88, jtaran06 and Texas_hwy_287 Thank this.
