The CDC (Centers for Disease Control) says these states also have the highest incidence of obesity. Obesity is definitely not the only factor for stroke but it sure doesn't help.

 

Well, we do like our fried chicken, catfish, hamburger steaks, deep fried anything, lard. And yes, the yankees moving here trying to change things ups our blood pressure quite a lot too.

As for the war of norther agression, it still ain't over yet. We're just regrouping.

Last time I was up there I asked for a sweet tea and they brought me a cup of hot tea with extra sugar.

 

I traveled into Vermont, New Hampshire and other parts "New Englandy" a few years back and had to ask waitstaff (how 'bout that for proper) to put some #### ice in my sodas. Those folks spend to much time in the cold. (LOL) I hope my GF doesn't get wind of what I just said - she's one of those Mainiacs!

 

There's a fine line when you define a medical reason for death, in the south.

Ask anybody who has had a relative that died of a stroke, and they'll tell you. It took at least 5 strokes to kill 'em while fishing, and only 1 well placed stroke if it occurs during a baseball game using aluminum bats.

PS...for all you dummies who think the CDC is the cats meow on stats. Most coroners in MS are elected...and have ZERO medical experience. Unless an autopsy is ordered/requested, the coroner guesses at the cause of death.

Without physical wounds on the body, there are 2 known causes for death. Heart attack...or stroke. Take your pick.

 

That's New England . Home of iced coffee and hot tea . I was in the Flying J in London , Ontario last month and asked for a sweet tea . The waitress asked "Iced tea with sugar ? " Smart girl .
I rarely admit it but I grew up in MA . Some years ago my sister moved to SC . When she went to a Cracker Barrel when the waitress asked her if she wanted corn bread or a muffin she said " No ! "
