I’m new to the truckers report, but need help!!
Have a 2011 prostar that keeps throwing SPN 91 accelerator position sensor code (have code reader)
put new sensor in it, checked all the harnessing all the way to engine, through firewall etc
took all the connections apart made sure they were all clean, and still randomly throws the code.
I’m a farmer and use the trucks for harvest, and haul to elevator.
Used code reader to read the accelerator position sensor % and everytime the code comes up the sensor buries itself at 101.6%
when the code is thrown, I unplugged the sensor at foot pedal, and then plugged it back in the codes went away.
any ideas guys? Do I have a bad sensor? Or anyone else had an issue like mine? Thanks in advance!

Hey Iam a grain farmer and I have the exact same issue with the same truck!. Did you ever find out what was causing this SPN 91 code?
Thanks so much -

Ok I have found my problem. I pulled off the most rearward connector on what i believe to be the Fuel Control Modual (Behind the fuel filter housing) NOT the ECM.
I soaked the pins with electrical contact cleaner and blew off with compressed air and cured the spn 91 problem. Iam missing my little black plastic splash shield in front of the connector and recently washed the engine, Iam guessing there was some corrosion on the tiny pins as they are so small it is hard to see.
Also something to know about when your DPF light is on...
-You cannot do a parked regen when you have an active engine code ("engine warn") is illuminated on the display. You have to fix that problem first. It will inhibit the regen otherwise.
-Not that it was my issue, but I successfully removed and cleaned my DPF filter myself, rather that send in for baking. I removed the filter, and started to pressure wash it, however hardly any water made it through the other side. I soaked it with engine degreaser and pressure washed, soaked again with degreaser and pressure washed, and again and again and the pressure washer stream of water was dampened (of course) but was now making it through the filter all the way around. It washed out Alot of black soot collected and very clean water coming out at last.Heavyd Thanks this. -
