Scary black rifle didn't make it into the article, so I'm guessing handgun?

Edit: Person on scene saying it was a "submachine gun, or an automatic rifle" I need to finish my Hooked on Phonics books.

 

I'm wondering why there's a sudden surge in these shootings. I could be mistaken, but seems like we went a few years without any mass shootings, and now its suddenly a daily occurrence.

 

MSM spent three years reporting on mean tweets, and one year reporting on Corona. Now they have to get back to actual news.

Jeremiah Miller told WISH-TV he was between shifts at FedEx when he heard several shots. "This made me stand up and actually look out the entrance door, and I saw a man with a submachine gun of some sort, an automatic rifle, and he was firing in the open," he said. "I immediately ducked down and got scared and my friend’s mother, she came in and told us to get inside the car."

 

Geez, I completely glazed over that part.

 

I'd like to see some actual numbers. How many mass shooting events nationwide, per year, over the last 20 years. Surely there's a study or something somewhere.

Unfortunately the internet has been broken for several years, or I might have found the info by now.

 

Use duckduckgo instead of Google. There are statistics kept, but they decreased the number of casualties to constitute "mass" shootings. Thing is, not everyone follows the update, so you get differing numbers. The whole thing is as stupid as school shootings. If a gang member kills another gang member at midnight in a school zone, it literally goes down as a "school shooting".

 

I do use duckduckgo. But as you pointed out, everything is eschewed now, so it's hard to find good info.

 

It seems like they would have been all over any of these tragedies, considering their narrative. But I'm not trying to bring politics in here, I just find it odd that there is a sudden surge in these tragic events. I just wonder if there is some correlation with something else happening in the world.
