This is the closest thing to what I am hearing from these trucks. I should note that I hear this from a lot of Ford diesels though. So, I think its something they are doing or adding like a tuner or turbo upgrade etc, that makes this happen, rather than an issue/problem.

    "Driver returns on foot" (backwards)

Hard to argue with a Ford. There's a reason for the saying "Built Ford Tough". Their engines sucked until the second gen 6.7, though. And yeah, I'm including the 7.3.

As far as noise is concerned, when I was younger the first thing we'd do to a Cummins was pull the silencer ring out of the HX35. Kids gonna be kids.

Absolutely. You can beat an OBS for twenty years hard without a rattle in the cab to be heard. But the 7.3 is just an 1,100lb boat anchor with a non-filtered HUEI system. I'm a lover of all diesels. Even the 5.7. But the 7.3 has got to be the most overrated engine in history. OBS is far better with a Cummins.

    LOL. Meh.

Remove the fuel bowl leaking nightmare. Carry an extra cam position sensor. 3” down pipe to 4” out the back (with a muffler). Buy a good tuner. Get John Wood to build you a transmission and it’s good. I did a bunch more to my second crew cab ‘97 OBS, but I didn’t need to. I’m not trying to race it. Plus it gets like 22-24mpg on the freeway.

Cummins are nice but too much cash for what I need/want.

The 7.3 Powerstroke is a great engine. I owned 3. The 7.3 IDI in 87-93 is a turd. However, look on YouTube at ZIP TIES AND BIAS PLIES. He has a 7.3 IDI that won’t die. He’s a crazy Canadian. Funny as heck. Be prepared for non stop swearing in that Canadian accent.

Fords greatest blunder was the 5.4 3 valve. 2004-2008 F150. I didn’t do my research and just picked one up one day. It’s still running but 120,000 miles it’s almost dead. I put on maybe 7,000 of those miles. It just sat for 2 years as I bought a new one. And it has the famous frame rot. I should have burned the money.

That’s pretty funny. I’ve never seen a Ford push mower.
