Dental insurance has gone to H### also. But, you are right. Smitty is determined to turn it in to a J.B. Swift type of operation. He had his wings clipped a little but he is still determined. Things will not get better...we can only hope they don't get worse.

I wasn’t terminated...my resignation letter came about a month after I left with the status of rehire able, but depending on the DC and staff, I could see that happening.

You are right, I said terminated but did not mean to say he was fired...he was, I suppose, hastily quitted...and escorted out the gate.

I may leave in another few months. I will let you know how that goes. Time for a different job. Listening to all these beeps, buzzes, hums, whistles and such is about to end:)

    T.Rucker and mxpx148 Thank this.

It really is, but to be honest, once I got past the surprise of it, I really didn’t care. I never really drank the Walmart koolaid...not saying I hated the place, but after working at places in the past that had the fake “Ra Ra, we are one big family!” nonsense, I had no desire to be a part of it...to me it was just a job with its pros and cons. I have family waiting for me...don’t need it at work. The biggest thing that got me is after all these years, they haven’t figured out that drivers talk and having that kind of attitude towards drivers will get around...guess it doesn’t matter when you start putting butts in seats rather than trying to retain good drivers.

I guess every DC is different. I am on my way to making way more than $85k a year. Deer? We are told it happens and is not a big deal if it happens and not held against us. I don’t feel I am micromanaged at all, we are given our loads and left alone. The Cascadias do suck. I am getting all the vacation time I am wanting, it’s already on the books and approved and my trips booked. I love my DC and co workers. Sorry it didn’t work out. I don’t know why I am just seeing this post. But I hope you landed somewhere good.

I’m glad that it’s working for you...as I had said a few times on a couple threads, it certainly wasn’t the worst job in the industry, and I do believe a fair amount of pros/cons have to do with the DC/running area. It is better than many jobs in trucking...it just isn’t the same Walmart that it was 10+ years ago, and the fact that there are DCs offering $8k signing bonuses is proof of that...there used to be waiting lists to get into DCs. When I left, one of the driver trainers(one of the ones that I went out with) told me we were #### near 100% turnover rate! I hope things work for you long term and that Walmart wakes up and goes back to their roots for you guys. I did find a great position with a great company, but I am actually leaving the industry as I got a great job offer as an industrial electrician(my former career field) that allows me to make more and be home every night.
