Tobyhana and Pottsville are not good dcs to run out of due to the areas you run. That's why they are always hiring in those. They always sent me there from Marcy and pay dropped every time.

Ok, you GET PAID FOR EVERYTHING YOU DO....

Hook to a trailer? You get paid.
Drop a trailer? You get paid.
    Arrive somewhere? You get paid.
    Drive anywhere? You get paid.
Wait anywhere longer than 45 minutes? You get paid.
Sleep in your truck at night? You get paid.
Live load or unload? You get paid.
Truck breaks down? You get paid.
Have to put chains on? You get paid.
Sit in a meeting or training? You get paid.
    Drive safely? You get paid.

I'm probably missing things, but you get where I'm going here, right?

T.Rucker, mxpx148 and Lonesome Thank this.

So i dont understand what everyone is complaining about. All the safety stuff in these trucks isnt going away, the micromanaging is not going away. If the money is good deal with it and quit whining. The trucking industry is changing and if you can't handle it im sure disney has a position cleaning toilet without any lane departure or forward collision control. They will hand you a scrub brush and point to a toilet. No micromanaging there

Typical day, using your start day as an example:

    Hook to trailer -$8.92

Mileage pay to first stop at your cpm. Mine is currently at $.53 with less than 2 years on the job. We get a little more than most, for being in the Northeast. Weekend mileage is an additional .07 per mile

    Arrive at first store $11.28

    Live unload $12.33

    Mileage pay to stop two.

    Stop pay $11.28

    Live unload $12.33

    Mileage pay to final stop

    Drop $11.28

    Hook $8.92

    Mileage pay back to DC.

Sleep in the truck, layover pay $44.10

Any unscheduled time, waiting to be dispatched, breakdowns, or loading / unloading longer than 45 mins - $14 per hr.

Training and meetings are payable at 1/10 of your ADP. In my case that comes too $38.70 per hour.

    Rinse repeat

And I left out the quarterly safety bonuses, which work out to be between $800-$1000 per quarter for me

That to me sounds like a pretty good deal. I'll be starting the onboarding in Laurens, SC. on the 5th. Will be working out of the lakeland fl dc. Was told that lane payes an extra .07 a mile because its a 2100 departure. And since i live about 20 minutes from that dc i could potentially go home every night or stay in the truck my choice

You'll do very well then. Don't count on making it back to the DC every night. Sometimes you'll make it back, but still have a few hours left on your clock. You'd be giving up quite a bit of money if you didn't go back out on a next day load.
