It sounds like your injectors may need a minor cleaning.
This may be controversial but I used to fill my filters with Howes twice per year and it seemed to clear some gunk out of my injectors.

I probably need to run something through it. It only smokes on startup and no other time after that

SA to Dallas, picked up lumber and brought it to Broken Arrow. Rolled into the receiver just after 5 (stopped for a bathroom break and pizza) and they actually unloaded me. I just planned on unloading in the morning, but this works too.

Now Im enjoying my pizza and some cold ac.

Usually go for Elijah Craig small batch for general mixed drinks or cooking.
Four Roses for straight sipping.

Heaven Hill 6 year green label is a very good choice for a lot of things. Very reasonably priced as well.
