Hey everyone,
So now that I'm going to be doing LCV across AB/SK/MB, I'm wondering what drive/steer tires all you guys doing LCV/Hoppers/Super B like to run?
I'm currently running Michelin XDN2's in 16 ply, and XLine Energy Z Steers in 16 ply.
I will need all 10 tires by October, and I was thinking of getting XDS2's and XLine Energy or Bridgestone R284's all in 16 ply again. However, that's the most expensive option, so just curious if people find something else works better or is cheaper with the same performance.
Cheers.

In my opinion 16 ply are over-kill unless you haul heavy. You also give up some on the ride with 16 ply.

I do super B hoppers on the prairies.
Pretty much everyone runs Michelin steers. Then all over the board for drives.
I really like the XDS2 in the winter. I climbed a coulee south of Yorktown on hwy 8, after freezing rain. Never spun a wheel, one car behind me didn’t make it up. In the summer you’ll want a closed shoulder tire for your run.BigHossVolvo Thanks this. -

Iv'e never bought anything other than Michelin's for steer and drives up until now.You pay more but well worth the extra money IMO.Now that I no longer work in the winter months and only run maybe 50,000 miles a year I will probably go with a cheaper brand like Hankook and just a rib tire instead of the lug tires. At my age if I put Michelin's back on they would out last me.
