I understand that. I won’t nose in unless it’s a straight back either. I’m not sure what your schedules are but if it’s even a possibility maybe try and park earlier so you have a choice of “good” spots. Other than that maybe look at alternative parking areas. Or pay for two spots as was suggested above.

Going by your schedule seems like rest areas would be a better option for you. Easy to get in early and easy to get out of if you can pick a good spot where no one can block you in.
I am honestly trying to help, not be a wise ###. I hate truck stops. I stop at them for fuel and showers and otherwise leave the smelly dumps behind.
I call a lot of shippers and recips and ask about parking there overnight. Works out a lot more often than you think and it's especially helpful the second time you've been there because you know the lay of the land. Side streets and coves in industrial parks are also great. Behind strip malls in good parts of town are really good too.
If your contracts require enhanced security, about the only thing a truck stop sort of provides IMO, then I would definitely take the advice above and nose in. If you nose in to reserved parking with fuel pumps behind you then you are golden.Trucker61016, Tug Toy, TokyoJoe and 2 others Thank this. -
I’ve been taking loads out of my lane lately. I have specific truck stops that I frequent. I don’t sleep at rest areas, rarely at Mom and Pop truck stops, and I never sleep at customer, shipper or receivers.
Please also keep in mind that some of the loads that I haul are stipulated where I can stop and where I can sleep. So I have to make sure that if I choose an alternative parking, it will not be in violation.Trucker61016 Thanks this. -
Well I have to get some sleep. Been up since 3am. Tomorrow is a late day with a short haul. But this accident has me wide awake. I need to go to sleep. In 4 hours it will be 24 hours that I have been awake. So, I’m going to bed now. Be safe everyone.

My brand new helmet story. is a new Arai with a factory multi colored paint scheme, I left it in my car at a track day my cousin takes it out and sets it on a table so the car can be driven over to be gassed up what could go wrong well a gust of wind blew it off the table and it rolled under the trailer!Midwest Trucker, Tug Toy and Dale thompson Thank this.

This is why local wins. Hard for them to hit your truck when its parked in driveway.

Slept at the shipper the other night. Even had my own porta john. Basically the Waldorf Astoria. As a bonus, I didn't get ran over.

Mom n pop places are your best bet for not getting run over, just my opinion.Jaebo74, black_dog106, clausland and 5 others Thank this.

Being hit while parked is not always the anger inducing insurance run around that you have experienced sometimes the pile of sleeper and fairing pieces just brings a smile to your face, when they hit the tracks of a 11 1/2 foot wide 85,000 lb excavator.
