My guess would be that the 300 hours would be YOUR combined total of lines 3 and 4 of YOUR log book as these are the actual hours that YOU are working. Training involves more than just driving so you should get credit for ALL working hours. I'm not 100% certain about this as I haven't worked for Werner, but this would be my thinking.

If you do full training with out taking hometime, make sure you get that $500.00 I did that but after I got my first pay check after training, they didn't ad the $500 bonus, they where trying cheap me out. After fighting with them over a month about it,they give it to me BUT they drop my cent per mile by 3 cents for few months. They clam it didn't had notthing to due with the bonus but I gave up fighting with them about it.Just make sure to realy check your pay check if you go for the bonus.

I won't be one and I own my truck. It will bury the speedo if I wanted it to but I set the cruise between 62 and 65 to save fuel. When you have to buy the fuel you do every thing you can to make it last.

The 300 hours is line three only. It is 300 driving hours. It takes about 8 weeks to complete. The first 40 hours is 6am to midnight only. After that you can run any hour of the day. You will run as a team and that means a pretty grueling schedule. You basically work 24/7 even though you rest when you arent driving. They keep you running hard.
The pay seems low but you get paid that no matter what. If your trainer does hometime, you get put up in a hotel and continue to get your pay. My pay went straight to my bank from my first pay check. I'm not the one to ask about pay because I really didn't need it anyway.Jmurman Thanks this. -

No. The max is 11 driving and 14 working in a day.
Just so I can understand, how did you get 18 out of what I typed? -

the 6a to midnight part but i understand your saying you can only get your 11drive time in from 6a to midnight -
I get it. I was afraid I was explaining something in a screwy way. Cool.
The reason for this is that most accidents happen between midnight and 6am so they want your initial experience to be during normal waking hours. It's a bean counter thing.rentamedic Thanks this. -
ok i know when i did time with pam i was driveing from around 10p to 6 or 7a and the guy i was with was driveing days they like you say were running us as a team even thou at the time i was just out of school

You are 210% right about everything you've said. 300 on line three is correct. Grueling and tired don't begin to describe it. But, I think that the stress is what makes you tired. You're out there doing something you haven't ever done before. All part of the learning process.
As far as the low pay... Yes, it is low. But Werner's trainee pay is about in the middle if you are comparing carrier pay. The way I figure it, is that if a person is an apprentice in any field they aren't going to make much until they learn the trade. The money is there and you're paid every week no matter.LostSoulCA Thanks this.
