Welcome! The guys here and others doing this job are the last bastion of old school cool. I've only done HH for about 4 years now. But, you'll never want to bang a dock again. Every day is a challenge and most days are fun.

Chili, a good place to start would be an equipment rental yard.

One time I pulled up close to a gate so I could reach the call button , didnt swing out enough and ran into the gate post.
I backed up and drove on in, then seeing a very large camera , figured I might was well tell the security guy in receiving what had happened.
So I said “I think someone hit the gate post” pause , ,”pretty sure it was me “

so he pulls up the video feed and there in teal time , is a truck driving over the top of the post I had just hit .

so I skated and the other guy got the blame since he hit it After I did.

FerrissWheel, cke, Tug Toy and 2 others Thank this.

Not sure if it has been mentioned yet but one thing I always do when I pull on location is check the serial number of the machine I'm supposed to load. Once it's confirmed then I make sure it will start. After those two steps then I'll get my trailer configured. I know two guys who hauled the wrong pair of scrapers halfway across this country. Always check the serial numbers and not just the last numerical sequence. I've had the wrong machine brought to my truck at a dealer- difference prefix but the same identical last 6.
