You nailed it , I dropped my haz mat
Still have tanker and doubles. But not worth the aggravation to screw with haz mat. Rolling target and harassment.

That’s not bad. If the benefits were right I’d probably be game. But I’m also willing to work and drug free so I’m in a different class altogether.

Drug testing eliminates around 97% of the job applicant pool in my neck of the woods.

Good benefits just have to be able to endure micro management in it's most severe form from managers who have no training in management.
All were either technicians or a driver in one case.
And that's an average but at the high end 135K

I could never figure out people who would rather get high for a hour or three than make good money.

    Rocks Thanks this.

Yup , gas hauling as a owner operator went from 300k to 180K and 10 times the amount of aggravation.....

12,000 gallon loads to 10,700 truck takes the loss . Waiting in line at the racks (we turned the pumps down for safety) waiting time is free......truck also takes the loss .
    Etc......

local company wages are $30 for gas haulers $28 for dirt dumbies ....same company

Marathon refinery here in St Paul Park will be entering it's 4 month on strike in May.
Drivers are non union but the plant operators are teamsters. They continue to operate at less than capacity w management and out of town workers.
We won't cross the picket line but the contractors who cross are paid 1500 per day.
Some are company drivers and some o/o and both probably hope it goes for a while longer..lol

Sure, I could make a few dollars per hour more in a year or two. But there’d be a trade-off. I’ve no gripe with the money, especially since we just got our pay increased. The company is good, benefits are good, pay is good, equipment is good, and the job is fairly easy as we only deliver to our truck stops. No dealing with gas stations and/or customers.

Im glad you put this response out there....because it has nothing to do with politics or the administration. I saw a similar article on CNN's website. This article echoed the first part, but CNN went further to make mention of high demand for gas. It is getting warmer everywhere, and it mentioned people booking trips like crazy. The one thing that leapt out to me was the mentioning of the higher cost of gas in the summer time to treat it because it has to be environmentally friendly given the hot temps in the summer months.

    Oh
That sounds good. Rare and unexpected for a company to treat it’s drivers with respect and pay them well.
    I’d be sticking around too.

    I work with underground tanks,
We did some work at a truck stop that had a tanker delivery every 8 hours.

What pipeline is that? This is the first I've heard of an East-West pipeline.
