48’ flat or stepdeck with ramps

Right now, I almost wish I had an all aluminum 53ft step with a Conestoga. Alot of light loads that are sometimes too tall for a flat.

All depends on what you want to haul and what is available in your area you run. If you haul alot of steel, a Conestoga is sweet.

What kind of work you have available to you/

i have flats and steps: because i need both/ some of what i do requires a step, and other stuff, while i could figure a way to make it work on a step about every time, its a hell of a lot easier to load on a flat.

unless you were asking which of my connies is nicer, in which case id say the newer one.

 

Step decks can be a pita for doing building materials because of weight distribution. The only reason to get a step deck IMO is if you’re going to haul a lot of vehicles or tall loads. Of course this is only my experience. Other people who own step decks probably have a different view.

I would start with a flat, then if I wanted to do other stuff get a rgn. 2 cents, take with salt.
