Help Request for WS 4964 owners

    I need some photos for a Western Star 4900 series ( I have the 4964fa) I need to see the springs
    and cables for the hood. I keep replacing mine and they keep breaking. I think maybe previous owner
    changed something. I was wanting pictures of that area to compare with my truck, and see if it was
    mounted correct. I looked around internet and couldn't find any pics that show that.

    Mine on my 92 used to break, at the ends. Couple times in 4 yrs. it’s a bad design. Best to run cable through them, so when they break, damage is limited. I’d start looking at different springs, from different trucks, if I owned one today. Keep in mind, they’re fully extended when hood is closed, maybe even more than when open.
