I have seldom found it necessary or wise to pull off on the shoulder for any reason other than a true breakdown situation.
Too may drivers pull to the side to take a leak, or whatever, and then pull right back out with no regard for traffic they are getting into.

We need more cops on the roads to check that sort of thing.

n Las Vegas nv at the Petro.
made it here for my 10 with 4 minutes left on my 11.
due to the last really lite load I was able to get here. this load is 40000 lbs and wind was mostly a head wind till I got thru misquite nv.
talked to an estes driver who is out of the Vegas yard and he says all swift trucks and trailers are not there no more.
don't know the reason why we don't use their yard anymore but seems that Amazon took our place

Not sure about Vegas, but Swift has lost a lot of stuff in MN as well.
Ever since the Inver Grove terminal shut down we don't have nearly as much there.
We used to have Post and West Rock, and I usually had a load out from home time with one of them.
    No more.
    They were very good accounts.

Now it is only that Costco account that seems SO important.
Half the problem with that place is that they can not get enough dedicated drivers to run the account, and the other half is that they seem to cancel a dozen loads in a single day - leaving all those OTR drivers they pulled in flat without a load.

Well that's the thing I already moved over as much as I can my left overhang was on both center lines and my right overhang was on the right line. Turns out the lane was exactly 11 ft wide .

I digress then the dude puts his steer Tire oversaid line forcing me into oncoming traffic, as at this point I'm too close to drop enough speed. And the dude in the Pete coming from the other direction. I'm just glad he was paying attention. Fortunately me taking the entire Lane before even getting up to the dude, already had the pete riding the line. He jumped over more when he realized what the idiot on the shoulder was about to do.

But normally as long as there's nothing on that shoulder and as long as it's not narrow the shoulder my right tires are always right on that white line and all my right side overhang's always over the line just to kind of help prevent any close calls with traffic that may try to pass me or on coming traffic.

But yeah when it's like a four lane road or something. I always jump over get out of the way and usually even get my right side overhangfully in the dividing line. Depending on size mind you.

Having the same idiots on a Two lane is just a whole other headache

    Northfield, MN at the J.

    Rotten day for pplans.
The first was a load picking up today (3rd) at Bush Brothers in WI, delivering 350 miles away for a live unload on the 6th at 1400.
All the rest were wet Costco loads out of Owatonna, even though I don't do wet loads.

    Refrigerated... Refer.
    I only do dry van.

Aside from the wonky hours, I can not stand the sound and vibration. It drives me crazy.
Parked next to one is not so bad, but being connected to it really bothers me.
