Was wondering if anyone hauls liquor loads. If so how difficult it was obtaining the license to do so.

    I have no clue
But asking the question, does this fall under a liquor license thing or a hazmat thing?

I believe a liquor license thing only because we are attached currently to a company and we haul liquor for them but we do not have to have hazmat. We’ve applied for our own authority and noticed we have several liquor loads in our area paying well but we have to have a license to haul.

Each state is different, and not every state requires a license/permit. Some easy, some not, some cheap, some not. But you only need them for whichever states you'll be hauling liquor in.

I've never seen one require hazmat, but if it's in bulk containers it could require tanker. Usually what I see is in retail packaging though. I guess it's probably cheaper to ship the bottles to the booze than to ship the booze to the bottles.

I have had alcohol loads that required both tanker and hazmat, but I'm pretty sure they were for industrial use.

Check with your insurance people and see if your rates will go up when hauling liquor. It's considered a high value cargo and one of the most frequently stolen.
We looked at a wine haul but when the insurance increase was figured in it wasn't such a good deal.

Some of the food grade tanker outfits haul hard liquor in tankers. Most have to be placarded UN number 3065.
