I started the business and finally got on the road last week (1 truck with a super-b). Thought I could live off of Loadlink but the freight has been to hit and miss, seems to be leftover scraps on there that don't usually pay too well. I took lumber to Winnipeg but couldn't find anything coming back. Ended up grabbing a partial for $725 just to pay for fuel to get back. Brokers are just taking loads from other boards (lumber loadboards etc) and just re-posting them. Often times multple brokers have the same loads...
Anyways I'm looking to pivot the business, I don't want to lease onto someone as I want to run under my own authority still. Does anyone have a direction I can go in terms of a dispatcher or permanent broker that can help me out with loads to keep me running more consistently?
Where to find reliable work as a carrier/owner operator? Broker? Dispatcher?

Even getting brokered loads, you will still do better then leasing on with a company an paying them percentage to find you the same brokered loads. Seems to be how most companies are doing it now a days.
If you have the cash flow to carry your self on your own authority it's how it should be done. Grind it out eventually it will come.
Not a fan of super b work. No extra pay for all that extra weight imo -
