They love to get newbies, that don't read the threads here, excited. They want that expansive net of drivers waiting for loads. That's how they gobble up the hot shot runs. They have guys sitting empty within 200 miles of anywhere. Same day pickup anyone?

Consider the source. Who pulls Transcore loads anyways? I always see their tvs in truck stops broadcasting to nobody. Why don't they ask the big trucking companies how freight is?

Funny, I read alot of the threads and it sounds to me that freight has picked up, and most drivers are getting decent miles... :biggrin_2554: I believe that alot of what is said here is opinon and not nowhere near fact....:biggrin_25522:

Ok , So just because you see alot of trucks there, dont mean they are lookin for something to do! :biggrin_25512:. An if you havent talked with all those drivers of the trucks !! it's still just an opinion ....

General freight is down without a doubt. Surely some specialized area may be thriving but in general, it's definitely down, down and down!

Funny how it mentioned October 2k8 because that is EXACTLY when I felt the decline in a big way! But last December was actually pretty good for me but I did stay out the entire month (including Xmas). It never got back to what it was prior to that.

Even this past Summer was somewhat disappointing on average! Obama folks! Libs takin' over the Legislature in 2k6 started the decline and Obama takin' over the Exec was the nail in the coffin! Down goes Frazia!

I haul gas and petroleum. I am busy as all get out. That's rare though. I have friends that drive OTR and they are not doing even half as good as me.

And your post is a perfect example of the opinions . You give no reference to where you heard freight was picking up . Baack just posted a thread saying job losses are decreasing . That's the best news they have . More job losses every month but not as many as in previous months .

And the new rules hit next month. That's supposed to be another 175k out of work literally overnight on top of the current job loss rate. Not counting an unknown number of companies that will be shut down taking all their employees with them.
