Recently my 2016 5700XE has displayed a perplexing problem. Or should I say not displaying. When I activate the lights the dash display goes to its darkest setting and the gauge lights are out. If I sustain press the dimmer switch to brighten it will eventually illuminate the overhead lights, seemingly confirming the switch is working.
The two dash display fuses I can find are both intact.
Anyone experience this?
Thx

Your switch is not working on all points, it has several sections of copper wire that the 1st part controls dash lights brightness, so replacing switch after ck. with a ohm. tester to see if the power goes up on the post that leads to dash panel as you push it to go brighter with each try? Also ck. for. any water leaking from bottom of windshield that's running on to back of switches

Well, if I pull the CL/ID s witch's plug off of the back, I am able to partially remove the Dash Lights momentary toggle to access the pins. I grounded a circuit tester and I get power at the 4th lowest pin on UP depress, power to the 2nd from top on DOWN, and constant power on the 3rd from top. So it doesn't appear to be the switch. There's no sign of moisture.

At the end of the day Freightliner of St Cloud unplugged the DCM next to the ABS on the driver's side of the firewall on the cab and plugged it in again. This resolved all the issues but I was advised that if it did it again I may need to replace the DCM
