While it's too greasy to use on a regular basis, Preparation H works great on cracked hands. Sometimes in the winter I'll get a really deep crack in a fingertip. Just put some Prep H on it at night, wrap it in a bandage (or wear a glove), and by morning it's closed enough to be pain free.
Bag balm works, too, but not nearly as well as the Prep H. -
yes grasshopper, I may be older but I am still the Master of the wit-foo. Now go turtle wax the floor.

I have no idea why this is making me laugh so hard.
ahhhhhhhhhhh but it is! we use to put prep h under our eyes to lessen the puffiness prior to a pagent or photos. okay now THAT makes me laugh too. -
JustSonny Thanks this.

I use Eucerin...It's the best I've found and it shouldn't bother your allergies either.

Get yourself a pair of cotton gloves...okay maybe a couple of pairs. Before going to bed use the udder cream and put the gloves on...not sure what the magic is but your hands will be soft and hydrate in a couple of days. Don't stop is the key in winter.
Partner is probably going to kill me but she uses it on her feet and then puts on cotton socks....
Once everything is healed up just don't stop the treatment....it's the whole key. -
I know that you don't like oily stuff, but Vitamin E oil will help heal and also soften the dry skin. Mix some in with your lotion, and it will absorb fairly quickly. Inexpensive at Walgreens. Plus E has something that really takes the itch out of the dry skin. Not sure what it is, but it works on bites too.
Working Class Patriot Thanks this. -
