The biggest thing I have seen on this site is that most of the time the guy with the right attitude does very well wherever he is. You may have days that grind, but you have a great attitude so you will be just great. I look here and see very few gripes about most companies compared to how many drivers there are. Not that all the drivers stop by here. You do get a pretty good view. I may be going with Schneider myself in March. They called me back the other day. They made no promises but they have a job and they pay a check for the work that gets done. I have been working since I was eight. I have watched people fail at every profession I have worked at. I have failed at a few myself. Not everybody fits every company, but if you have some patience and maturity you can manage almost anything you have the brains to do long enough to change to a better environment when the time comes. Hang in there.

I'm biased obviously since I work for Schneider but so far they are doing ok by me. Van drivers might have a different experience than us bulk guys. Time will tell.
MrBill: Right on, attitude is important in everything we do. If you go in with a cruddy attitude, you will have a cruddy time. -

63 mph is fast enough for me when I'm pulling 40k lbs of chemicals.

It's like someone kicking you in the backside. If you upset surge. I need to find someone who can draw a bull kicking the back of a truck. Make it into a patch. Have the bull wear a chain around its neck with the name "Serge".

I've been with Schneider for about two months including school and training and have no complaints so far (except the food in Carlisle). I did a lot of research on this website and others before I made the decision to go with Schneider and it's been everything I expected so far. It sounds like the thread starter either went into this with the wroing attitude or didn't do enough homework or both. I learned as much as possible before diving in and have had no surprises so far. Schneiders training program was great as far as I'm concerned. There were guys in my class from CDL schools and other company run training programs and they said they learned more in the frist couple days at Schneider than they did through the whole program they came from. Schneider is not offering a "pass your cdl" course. They offer "training". They want you to know how to drive not just have a license.
Sorry for length of the post, but I have more thing. While waiting my turn at dmv to take my road test, I watched guys from a local "pass you cdl" driving school trying to alley dock and it looked they had never been in a truck before. I nailed it on the first try without a single pull up. I'm not bragging, but that's difference between "passing" and "training" for your cdl. -
