Freight always picks up a bit, this time of year. Christmas and JIT freight insures this.

This fact alone would be reflected in the recent drop in lay offs, and the surge of miles run.

However, another fact that we're all overlooking. January and February are traditionally the 2 slowest months of the year. So the stats released in March will be something to take a look at.

Our freight has seen a recent uptick. But, one of our customers lost an account that is forcing us to shift drivers to other locations. What was to be a dedicated run this past January with 4 drivers maintaining the freight. Has now become a dedicated run that requires only 1 driver, effective next week.

I said freight SEEMED to be picking up (from what i read on the threads) and yes it is an opinion. I read statistics and know they say freight is down, and I believe it is, from the ussual volume. but there are miles out there. And we will recover.... IMO, I feel anytime you are at war, there is a recession. And not to change the subject but, I also believe if they do it right with the CSA2010, It will be a good thing ( If they do it right) cause it will get rid of all the yahoo's out here that are a danger to us and themselves. Then when the recession ends (and it will ) there will be a demand for drivers that in return "MAY" spark a pay raise and being treated like a professional by all these company's . IMO
