Freight always picks up a bit, this time of year. Christmas and JIT freight insures this.
This fact alone would be reflected in the recent drop in lay offs, and the surge of miles run.
However, another fact that we're all overlooking. January and February are traditionally the 2 slowest months of the year. So the stats released in March will be something to take a look at.
Our freight has seen a recent uptick. But, one of our customers lost an account that is forcing us to shift drivers to other locations. What was to be a dedicated run this past January with 4 drivers maintaining the freight. Has now become a dedicated run that requires only 1 driver, effective next week.
Freight is up , no it's down , no it's ..... ?
