Just wondering what everyone uses for informational things while driving.
I suppose if I bought a dedicated GPS I could use my phone and get a book subscription. And get no commercial YouTube.
How about satellite radio?
Not really a big music guy but I like to listen to podcasts and audiobooks.
What do you guys use? Is there some other kind of service? I do you have unlimited internet on my phone.
Satellite/ podcast/ provider options

Any music service (Apple, Spotify, Amazon, Google Play Music which is now YouTube & Google Podcasts). You could always download a few every time you get to Wi-Fi if you don’t want to stream and use data.
Dieselboss and Dino soar Thank this. -
Ironically a very small amount of people get Podcast from Google for some reason, mostly people get them from Apple.
But interestingly Google podcasts are 100% free and they also are uninterrupted.
I'm going to check them out further thank you. -
Now I probably need a dedicated GPS so that I can use my phone for podcasts.
*** actually I just started messing around with my phone and I see now I can still use Google Maps and listen to the podcast right at the same time that's awesome.***Last edited: May 9, 2021

I get satellite radio free, company truck. I pay for YouTube Premium. So no commercials but its kinda annoying some YouTube people put their own commercial in now. You get YouTube Music included so that help justify the price for YouTube Premium.
I was listening to lots of podcast in the past but with the whole hand free phone laws. I stopped that plus company pays for satellite radio. Podcast use lots of cell phone data.
I'm still using Prepaid cell phone. Straight Talk for $55 a month $60 with taxes. I get 60GB of high speed data. Unlimited talk a text. I buy my own Unlock cell phone and Straight Talk let's you pick Verizon or ATT or T-Mobile. Straight Talk did stop the 10GB of Hotspot service on AT&T sim cards. I'm on Verizon side so it still works -
Straight Talk says it's Unlimited Data and Talk and texting for $55 a month but at 60GB they slow the internet to basically useless speed.

I'm okay on data because I use Sprint T-Mobile so my data really is unlimited. I use a lot of it too.
We'll see how it works out on the next trip! -
Stand alone GPS from RM and have an iPad with unlimited data on it that I use for weather and other driver Apps… I use Apple Podcasts but looking at other podcast apps soon. I don’t have a music service but I listen to a radio station from back home that is streaming their broadcast online. I have a few apps for news etc. I’ve looked into Satellite Radio but haven’t pulled that trigger yet. Not a huge music guy but I’d enjoy the news and talk channels.
Dino soar Thanks this.
