It will probably work just fine. But, they are not very efficient, thus performance is not very good. I posted a link to a thread I started a long time ago about the Cascadia. The answer to your problem is in about the first 10 pages or so, if I remember correctly...... A 7ft SkipShooter and RG8x coax.

    Define work?

work as in appearing to have a low swr?

work as in allowing the driver to take 150 or more feet?

    Mototom Thanks this.

I’m hesitant to buy another 300$ radio and 100$ antenna. I’ve pissed away a good chunk already on trying to get a CB to work

I've seen a long top loaded antenna secured to the back of the sleeper with grommeted supports to keep it from flexing against the body.

I'm using the membrane above the cab in a high rise condo, and it works enough for me.

Cascadia ? I took antennae mounts off a 5 year old Cascadia due to poor ground. Cleaned them up inside and out,,visible corrosion. Good now,I soaked the mounts in penetrating oil.... Difference on reading on my meter were quite obvious after soaking overnight

Cascadia hasn't had factory mounts on mid
roofs or condos since 2014, iirc. The 2013 had them. In dash radio has worked better on the newer ones, they seem to have fixed that, too.

I have a mount but haven't bothered with it, I had run it though the firewall and concealed the coax in the 2013 I drove for 7 years. Had a 7 foot Firestick until it broke off the coupling, but a 5.5 Francis worked just as well, maybe better.

If I can get even a half mile to a mile of range I’d be able to make do

Two cans and a wet string. No fuse needed. Foolproof. :)
