Good morning. A few weeks ago I went out to TX 10’ wide, followed permitted route, didn’t see any signs that said over sized loads exit going west, in my opinion that work zone is very tight though. However coming back east I noticed there was signs for oversized loads to exit. My question is I will be going out again 11’ wide 14’ tall and would like to take the same route, was just wondering if there is a oversized detour around that work zone just west of Little Rock on 30. Any help or advice is appreciated. Thank you

when you buy your AR permit at 11’ wide - they will route you around that section. You will love the detour ....Landincoldfire, cke and PSM379 Thank this.

oh boy, how bad is it? I can also route myself a different way, was choosing to go this way for weekend travel.

Last week heading East at 15’ 11” wide was ar-29, us-278, us-79,us-167, I-530, I-540. Not a bad route, the turn off i30 to 29 sucks with a 70’ stretch but it’s doable. Us 278 has some tights spots but once you get to us-79 it’s all 4 lane or better.

I think was AR-9 - pulling 12’ axle trailer heading from Little Rock to TexarkanaTug Toy, PSM379, cke and 1 other person Thank this. -
Thanks you guys. I will be headed west, just got the route doesn’t seem terrible. 40-440-530-US 167-US 79-US 278-AR 29-30. Bee nice if they just routed me on 67 out of hope and got on the other side of the river past the scale lol.

Thank
Thank you so much, I get to do it just the opposite way. Glad I asked on here just to make sure it’s doable. Only adds about 45 miles to my route also. -
At 11’ wide it will be a cake walk.
As for the scale in Hope, the other side is almost always open and there is no signs indicating what oversize loads should do. We generally run in two truck groups, I was the first truck one time and got the arrow to take the bypass while the second truck got the arrow for the scale. I keep going and the scale master told the other driver I should have stopped. The next few trips we would both pull up on the scale even if we got the bypass arrow, a different scale master yelled at us for doing that! Now I follow the arrows, and if they are to lazy to press the button the change the sign to “park” I keep going, #### em, they won’t even let us in the building to show our permits now. They might get cooties.Tug Toy, nikmirbre, singlescrewshaker and 3 others Thank this. -
We hauled 14’ wide scrapers through those scales eastbound two days in a row last week; got the green arrow both times. Surprised me that they didn’t want to look at the permit. I could see them in there yakking.
Unlike Kylefitzy, who got routed off on to Hwy 29 at exit 31, I got exit 30 directly onto US-278. Easy get off and turns that way, and same distance.
That Hwy 46 and Hwy 9 route that Rontonio got is terrible, and would have been so much easier on 167-79-278 or even 167-79-98-82. The new Arkansas online system-arpars- allows you to route yourself within reason and once you get the hang of it is so much faster than ordering over the phone.cke Thanks this.
