What is the detour for around Memphis since the I40 bridge being shut down.
News indicates could be months depending on detailed findings.

And the 55 bridge is older. Wonder how its capacity will be to handle the increase? It may be to capacity already.
Come in WB from Jackson, TN on I40, drop off on I240, come around to I55, then catch it NB to the bridge?

    Right and correct.
I hate going over that bridge.
Funny thing. I went across the I40 bridge that morning.
I guess that's why my Angel got me up so early in little Rock

    I finally escaped from Atlanta.

Southbound 75 headin' toward the ring was a HUGE MANATEE. There was no sign of the wreck, or any emergency vehicles, but traffic was still backed up 7 miles. I looked on in horror as I proceeded northbound.

I stopped in Calhoun at the Waffle House.

I apologize for no pictures, I was so fixated on getting at the WH goodness that I left my phone in the truck.

Sausage, egg, and cheese hashbrown bowl with a chili topper, a blueberry waffle, coffee and ice water.

    I love WH.

At the J in Resaca. Trucks seem to be fueling no problem.

I got a pickup in the Cinci yard tomorrow for a Saturday AM drop in TN, I forget where. Beats screwing around with local work. Maybe talk to my travel agent tomorrow, finagle a backhaul outta Memphis.

Well, I better check on Mrs Skillet. I got the following text exchange:

"I bought an electric hedge trimmer at Lowe's. Any tips?"

First thing I thought of was, "Be careful you don't cut the power cord", but I sent "Battery or corded?" Five minutes later she comes back:

"Never mind. I just cut through my brand new 100-foot 'Landscaper's Extension Cord'. Guess I gotta finish with the manual clippers".

Now if I go home and rib her about it, she'll come up with some bs excuse to deny responsibility, and for bonus points, somehow frame the entire incident as my fault.......

Don't be "Just looking back to see... on bridges these days. It may be gone. I still remember crossing
an old bridge coming EB from Enid, OK one night in 1957, loaded with all I could haul Lespedeza seed. Level to
downgrade and as I crossed could see the crisscrossed steel rod between girder support quivering and
lashing their free play. Thought then that "Some body needs to take a turn or two on the turnbuckles, snug
up that slack." Now I know how close it could have been. Must have been the AR river on old US 64.

Nope. Working just as it always has.
    It's just unnecessary.

Well I had a bad moment today. I can't get a trailer. Told there is one in st Louis. Call the place that gps is saying where's it's at. They say they don't have an LS trailer on thier lot. It's an O'Reilly's auto part store. I'm 50 miles south, I grab the dog drive up there. There is the trailer hooked to a tractor. I call LS tell them the tractor number. Five minutes later, phone call from LS that tractor doesn't have a driver approved for it. It's part of a small fleet and has been sitting for 20 days. So they call the owner and no response. So I push in and call the open deck guy at LS. But, he left early and won't be back till Tuesday. All the other open deck people are gone too. At this point im like ###. Till Monday. I need to show deposits for this month so my mortgage application won't get screwed up. There is still time, but it's getting close.

The next thing is the property I'm buying is a tri Plex. I don't plan on renting any units out, right away. But no one wants to write a home owners insurance policy, except for one at 4k a year. Normally it should be around 1400 a year for rural Indiana. But 3 kitchens and 4 bathrooms cost money. Plus a pole barn and a 5 car garage. I didn't see that coming, but it makes sense.

Edit:. There maybe some dry vans in Houston. Wow.
