Hi everyone, i removed my dash to replace the buzzer/speaker. Upon hooking it back, my lights are all gone from the dash. Any ideas?

Sounds like you may have accidently touched something in the cluster when replacing the piezo [noise maker] ....i am assuming you checked all dash connectors, fuses and have battery power of course. The only trick here would be to try a known good cluster to see if it powers up properly or take things back apart to make sure nothing is loose, damaged or burnt.

If the board is burnt, can it be replaced/fixed?

Sure but it may be cheaper just to replace it with a good used one......first things first...double check your dash cluster harness connections and make sure nothing is loose then go from there.

Yes a Volvo instrument cluster requires programming.

I suspect he is using his original cluster therefore i don't believe it should need a reprogram ...could be wrong as its been a while. If he changes it, for sure it will need to be reprogramed....

Not sure what year truck you have but Volvo clusters are pretty notorious for developing gremlins for bad contact at the contact points. There are several companies on EBay that resolder them. My 99 has three separate light wires that may or may not work at any given time. A pursuasive whack on the magic spot will sometimes bring them back, a bumpy road, or nothing at all will fix the problem. If the cluster is lose you can wiggle the connections on the back as well. My fuel gauge, air buzzer, high beam indicator, back lights, signal indicators, and idiot lights may or may not work at any given point.

It was going to be $300 to get it resoldered but then I blew out a knee and a clutch on a tractor in the same week.....

    Good luck,
    Jay
