I too am looking for information about this company from current and former drivers.

To resurrect an old thread...... I've been at Wiley Sanders since 2012 and am looking for a change again. Talked to recruiting at AMX by the name of Susan Kiddy. She was nice and answered all my questions. I am copy/pasting the email she sent me. Granted, there are things we discussed not on the list because as a driver for 10 years I was being thorough.

There is a $300 deposit for small dogs under 50 lbs and $500 for larger. It is taken out of your check in $50 chunks each week, but is refundable. They pay around 50% of the total health insurance which is on par for WSTL too and pay 100% for gap insurance. They use EFS and can open it to include purchasing fluids for the truck.
One thing I found out is that they have 24/7 support unlike Wiley Sanders. At Wiley you have 12am to 7am with no one in the office. I cannot tell you how many times I've been stranded for hours due to a blown tire because it happened at 4am or something. So that's a really big bonus to me.
The home every weekend sounds wonderful. I dread going into work after every hometime because I don't know what I'm getting into. It sucks. AMX will set you up to leave Sunday or early Monday, so you have a game plan for the week. I love that. Gonna sleep on it over the weekend and give Summerford a call too before making a decision.
Also, their trucks are 3 years old and newer. WSTL buys their trucks and finally sells them once they've given up the ghost about 5 million times.
Good luck to whoever needed the extra info about AMX.Texas_hwy_287, Redtwin, Vic Firth and 1 other person Thank this. -
Sounds like a good opportunity, best of luck.

@pagan22
Does the Refrigerated side of AMX have separate drivers (separate division) or does all of the drivers pull all of the trailers? If all drivers pull all trailers, prepare to go to the Bronx. AMX Reefers have regular runs up there from Dothan. AMX got in to the reefer business when they bought Powell a year ago.
You also mentioned Summerford. They may have regional and OTR. I see baby-bunk trucks pulling dry vans all of the time at our customers and it seems like it always the same Summerford drivers. They just got several big-bunk KW 680's in, complete with ThermoKing APU's. The trucks look good, a huge upgrade compared to what's been in their fleet for a while. -
My friend went from Wiley to Summerford and back to Wiley. They're dicking him around again, so he's going back to Summerford. He said they've got a dedicated route for dry van and will pay for you to get your TWIC.
