Partly just an alternative to ugliest state. But also.... I’ve said it before. Utah must be the most beautiful state. Besides all of that in the south. I dont hear enough talk about the mountains along the Salt Lake area. I go there. Constantly saying to myself. Gee that’s a beautiful mountain! Then again and again. Something about those mountains. Each individual one being a beautiful mountain. From top to bottom. All the way up. Beautiful!
I don’t find that in the Colorado Rockies. The whole scene is beautiful. Yes peaks. But not an individual mountain. And Pikes Peak has to be the most boring mountain to look at.

The most impressive mountain scenery has to be in Lone Pine, CA when you're traveling US-395. Lone Pine is at 3,700 feet elevation while Mt. Whitney is 14,500 feet tall, an elevation difference of over 10,000 feet in a short distance with no foothills. Only a few other places in the U.S. will you see the mountains rise up like that. When it's covered with snow it makes it even more scenic.

Wyoming is the most beautiful because it has the lowest concentration of humans.

I give a vote to Tennessee and Michigan. In Michigan I'm talking about territories along Lake Huron, and all the to the top

I enjoy running 81, in good weather, all the different houses, views, a whole variety of different lifestyles are represented going through Va. The State seems to have a lot to offer.

We took a road trip to all the national parks in Utah last year, and it was incredible. Escalante national monument is a hidden gem.

California also gets my vote for the pacific coast highway. We drove about 800 miles of it and it never got old. It's definitely not a truck route though :) It reminded me of New Zealand.
