They're pretty well protected down the frame, its just the short section from the master cylinder to the frame that took a hit. I'm going to try and zip tie them to the handlebars, under the bar, so they won't be as likely to get crushed. It actually looks like it caught the bar mount clamp on the top of the headset.

Got it, makes sense. Good luck. It's the little things that frustrate you when they ruin your day.

Edit: you can get a hollow bolt for your stem and route your front line right down the head tube. Just an idea for ya.

I've still got my low end Norco hardtail. I'm looking at maybe throwing a few bucks at it. I HATE the 2x drivetrain on it so I might convert it to the more modern 1x setup. Needs a better fork too. After spending 4 seasons on a Suntour spring fork and now a couple weeks on a Rockshox air fork I don't think I could go back to the spring fork.

Thinking about my shop....or there lack of at our new place got me thinking. I used to have a quonset to park equipment it. With prices being what they are. I might look into another one. Cheaper than a pole barn I think and I can put it up myself. Anybody here ever put one up? Might call on Monday and check on pricing.

Yeah, don't blame you there....that is a world of difference. I don't have what I would consider an all mountain bike or xc left. Everything is at the two extremes. I was riding my wife's bike lately. I think I'm going to have to build one again. So much nicer to get around on a single track with a bike that doesn't weigh 40+ lbs!...when your not going downhill....lol. you can build pretty cheap these days. You can have a really nice bike for under $2k no problem. There are websites that you can buy last year's overstock at deeply discounted pricing. That is what I would do....and prolly will do. ;)
