Haha i know he drank like a fish until he got married. My dad said the only time he saw him drunk was at their wedding. I'm not sure what ship he was on or even the years, pretty sure my uncle knows. I know they saw action. My other grandpa was in Korea with the air forceDeereRunner97, Lostkeys, clausland and 4 others Thank this.

Amazes me how these men, immigrants in a new foriegn land of America were so hell bent on fighting for a country they had just set foot upon.. Many of them below the legal fighting age of 18. Mine grandpops here, was 17. In passing I think @jamespmack said his grandfather was 16 or 17 yrs old too, & I'd bet Brett's grandpop was too young to legally join as well..?
Pretty sure I'm my grandma's favorite grandson, as I remind her of grandpop the most.. lol

Almost had a #### show happen this morning because of incompetent parts monkeys.
Tried using a fan clutch rebuild kit, Rush Peterbilt gave me the wrong pn for the fan clutch, got the rebuild kit from Fleetpride Sat. Mechanic figured it out too late in the day. Sat on hold with Peterbilt this morning for an hour, meanwhile my guy takes the core over there and hands the parts guy his phone. Luckily we got it figured out and paid for, which they gave me a price of $875 Sat, and this morning it was $730.DeereRunner97, jamespmack, Eldiablo and 5 others Thank this. -
This ones got the generic 366, but with true dual exhaust. Has a long stroke, so it'll lug pretty good, geared low, as were most trucks from the '80s era of 55. At 65, it's sucking gas, keep it between 55-63, it's averaging 6.4, still not good, but hey it's paid for and making $$. It originally came with a Holley 4153, someone put an Edelbrock on it, that's coming off and a tweaked Holley's going back on.
I'm looking for a single axle U model Mack to replace it, short wheelbase, like the one below I drove back in the '80's, man that was some truck, 300 maxidyne w/5spd maxitorque.
