My body rejected it so badly, I used to smoke my first cig of the day, then vomitted. One day I realized that I got nothing from smoking anymore. It was boring, expensive, and nauseating. I finished my carton and went to the store for some patches on July 1, 2010.

I was smoking 3 1/2 packs a day when I finally quit. Been 12 years now and I don't miss them at all.

The couple of time that I have attempted to quit over the years, just made me gain weight and be a larger than life azzzhole. Normally just a slightly chubby easy going dumbazzz. Lolo_O

Enjoying an after-dinner dip as I read this. Good job on all that kicked nicotine completely. I occasionally have a recreational smoke because it seems good, then the smell and taste reminds me why I quit.

Cold turkey on my 40th birthday.

It's the hardest thing you'll ever do. Took like 7 years for the cravings to truly go away.

    Coming up on 16 years.

I'm now on day 14. I wrote down all my triggers so far avoiding all of them except. 1, Waking up that morning smoke is a hard one. 2. Anything sweet makes me crave a smoke, so nothing sweet now. 3, Boredom so started remodeling the spare bathroom.

Staying busy is important. Anything that takes your mind away from the craving helps.
I hauled two loads of logs home and whenever the craving got especially bad I'd go out behind the house and cut and split doug fir 'til the temptation went away. LOL...I cut a lot of wood that first year.

Halls cough drops, the chery or menthol ones, any time I needed a smoke I just popped one of them and it did the job, and they're cheaper.
