There are MANY companies that have a much better reputation than CRE that have training programs. Do some research and make sure that which ever company you go with fits your needs. Again, BOL to you.

p.s. Take what ever a company's website states with a grain of salt. They all look like a bed of roses.

Be certain to take your cast iron chasity belt and for the love of God do not get into their fleece program or you will have even less money and even worse credit. A fleece is a horrible idea for a newbie. In my opinion they shouldn't even offer then until a driver gets two years under their belt. The company sponsored fleece program has destroyed more than one driver, not just CRE is guilty of this.

Just remember if a company is pushing something so hard as they do the fleece deal it must be good for them, NOT YOU.

I would check with schneider first, they run maine everyday hauling paper out of maine, you won't have trouble getting home and a great company to start and stay.I have talked to alot of their drivers thru the years. I thought awhile ago i answered you when Burky emailed me about you. get back and let me know how you made out.

thanx buck, I just checked schneiders website and it said they are not hiring out of maine but they are out of NH. I did fill out the online app again, and I called them but no answer. I am still looking for someone better than CRE but i guess if all else fails thats were I will go

(CR) In my opinion you just picked the worse one out there. I would stay away from all lease deals. Why would anyone want to pay for a truck that they will never own? I always advise drivers to be a company driver for at least 5 years before they opt the O/O option and then stay away from lease deals. They are in favor of the company. Most drivers go belly up trying to make it. They might start out doing well, but usually the miles will be cut and you won't survive. Then along comes another victim and they lease the same truck. Leasing leads to the soup line. A few might make it, but they are a rare spieces.

As someone who has gone through CRE's training, all I have to say is DON'T. Save your time, and your health and go somewhere else.

crewse, if i were you i woulddo some more research. i am in the same sit. as you, but there are better ways than to give your life to cre. i almost did the same thing until i read these posts. go to your stae employment office and apply for w.i.a. funds and pay for your schooling. that way you are not cre's slave, and you will have more options

I talked to CRE my first week of school and thought they were cool but This forum has directed me to stay away from a few of the companies ,I get the impression that CRE'S school would be like a six week long timeshare tour and your trainer would be like the guy with the $500 tie,see if you can get approved for free tuition by your local tech school or community college ,I did and dont have to pay a penny now or a wooden nickel later
