I have seen numerous posts regarding drug tests and hair follicle tests. I have been driving for 33 years, and when I was a kid I knew I wanted to drive a truck. So I didn't use illegal drugs or drink and drive. In my opinion I don't think people that use illegal drugs should be behind the wheel of a tractor trailer. I understand that people take pain medication for certain medical conditions and I am not against that is long as it doesn't affect their ability to drive. So am I too old school that I continue to think this way?

I am in my 30s and completely agree with you. Never did drugs and stopped drinking in my 20s. I have an occiasonial beer on the weekends. I am off the weekends, but if you are too old school, then I am too

    I'am in 100% with you
I have a huge issue with drinking in general I have my personnal reasons for that statement.. let alone drinking & driving .. I'll drink a beer or 2 when I'am at the house and know I'am not going anywhere .. Drugs aren't any different in my book ..
Been driving almost 40 years... So I'am "Old School" and proud of it

For me, Old School would look them in the eye, say "I don't use drugs, and I never drink within a day of driving a truck."

Then if they didn't believe your word and said "we need some of your hair because we need to trust and verify", Old School would tell them to put it where the sun don't shine, and go elsewhere.

I really don't give a ###### what someone else may have tried to pull. I'm giving you MY word. But thats just me, and I am definitely Old School.

I don’t drink or do any drugs. Since I was 18 and shipped off to fort Jackson, SC

But it’s not my place to tell anyone what they can and can’t do

As far as I’m concerned people should be able to enjoy their time off as they see fit as long as they’re straight by the time they turn the key again.

Personal responsibility... that's about as "old school" as you can get.

I guess that means I am old school too.

I don't spend much time with a cell phone either........refuse to talk to dispatch or brokers
every 5 minutes. Absolutely refuse to download company apps onto MY phone.......especially
for free. Company wants crap on my phone they can either buy the phone or pay a substantial
price to use mine. I don't mind a check call occasionally.....but the college educated brokers/
dispatchers that want 6 calls just to pick-up one load......not happening.

Guessing my days as a driver are numbered..............that is fine too. Once the industry doesn't
want experienced old school drivers anymore.....I will find something else to do.
