####, really? I haven't been out west in about 4 years. If that's the case than I better shut up and keep my mouth closed.

Vast majority of time the most Canada I run is about 2 hours to the border and #### that mess.

I've ran all over Canada at other jobs. Count me out. I'm in Texas as we speak.

Being as no eld units have been approved the roll out will have to be delayed even further. The gov.is handling this just like the vaccine roll out
No one knows what they are doing
But you can bet that many of the existing units will not be approved. Has Canada issued the standards for an approved device? Has Canada published a list of approved test labs?

From what I have read, most manufacturers aren’t even interested in participating with the govt and working to make their units comply to the Canuck requirements. I thought that was a comical.

Despite mishandling the implementation of the regulations, I do agree with Canada's stance about the third-party certification. I think the US model of self-certification amounts to not much more than window-dressing (yes, I realize that also applies to a lot of the regulations, but...).

I almost signed up for the Keep Trucking phone app system a couple weeks ago, aggressive salesman keeps calling, but then I did some research and learned about the certification and compliance issues and held off.
I will wait for a cheap and simple approved system for a one truck, one driver, one owner unit.

    Canadianhauler21 Thanks this.

The us certification is a joke. But that is what you get with Trump. In Canada we have testing labs similar to CSA or ULC. The DOT should have written the standards and made them available to any lab that wanted to participate. I think the apps like keep trucking and Samsura will be ng. I worked for companies that had those units. I made a mistake and moved my truck while on a 34. I cursed. Called the safety officer and he changed it to off duty. That change should not be available. I am convinced that some of the foreigner owned carriers are changing logs all the time. How else can their drivers consistently log over 14,000 a month?

Why do you keep blaming trump for something enacted by Congress in 2012?

im all for blaming trump for plenty of things, but to my knowledge he made no actual changes to anything directly trucking related. despite promising to make things better.
