Is it just me, or are squirrels somehow different these days?

They seem skinnier. They no longer race across streets, they walk. But yet, I don't see near as many squished squirrels on the streets. They don't head for the hills when they see me, they just kind of stare at me like they're asking "yeah, so what do you want?"

Maybe I just need one of those little ratdogs around that will tear after them upon sight. Maybe I'm just nuts, and they can sense it.

Are squirrels the same in your hood these days?

 

While some in this thread have expressed fondness for a certain oldtimer from Arkansas ( I won’t mention his name because I’m afraid he will come back like beetle juice) I really like the bits of old day glimpses from @JolliRoger he seems to have good recall of the old days without all the embellishments that you know who add.

 

The fob is a two piece that splits apart and there’s a watch type battery inside usually afaik.take it to a “batteries plus” store if you don’t want to open it yourself.
