Our well here is 280 feet deep. Granted it has filled to 40 feet from the surface.
Tho what I really like. Our property is 150' above hightide and the well isnt sucking in salt water yet.

My Mom lived near Hammond La. They had an Artesian Well, whatever that is. Spring fed maybe. Just north of there, is Kentwood Water, and Anita Springs Water. Both big Bottled water Companies. Anyway, I’ll say they have very soft water. Soap Lathers up great. Best Shower in Louisiana. Same with the Blue Beacon in Hammond. Best Wash, no streaks. Good soft water. They used to claim New Orleans had good drinking water, due to the extensive treatment it gets. Coming from the end of the Mississippi River. It has to be treated a lot. Not sure I believe that one anymore. They have so many chemicals down there. No telling what all’s in the water. Though the swamps seem to filter absorb a lot of it. Lots of Cancer down there. Same up here. We grew up in the shadow of Industry. No telling what fill dirt my neighborhood in Detroit was filled with. Used to be a swamp, around 1900, hunting Land I’ve been told.
