    1. Pallets standing straight and tall and then they need to restack some of them - every time.
    2. They won't take cash but there is a 5 dol processing fee for anything else than cash.
    3. My goodness, $250 - 300 for straight pull out and then some minimal menial labor?!
    4. How about I do it myself - as I did hundreds times before? Nope...only they are allowed to.
    5. Acting like I owe them something...at their mercy. I am the man with the money, you ought to look at me as such!!!!
-Well I am not the one who eventually pays but still...why put up with this?!
    Bunch of crooks or what?
Brokers, are your customers not concerned about the increased lumpers' cost and some of those are more or less scam like?! Someone should put check on them...those lumpers!

Yeah...I could do a straight pull out for $200! That's less than One hour with a manual pallet jack. Nice rate!
What about Aldi charging only $60? What's different about them?

Tell them they're not getting their stuff then. You'll unload it or they unload it and you're not paying. Their choice.

I had one driver at a receiver who used a lumper group that wanted $300 paid in advance by credit card and then they scheduled the unload time according to their schedule.

So the truck was sitting there waiting 7 hours in the dock for these guys to get to the truck, driver went into the place and no one was around to unload the truck. He found someone in the shipping room and she said they are all on lunch, so he called the office, talked to the manager who called the broker and the broker told him too bad.

So I caught wind of it and told my manager and the driver to tell the people in the shipping office they either unload the truck in 10 minutes or the load goes back. Well they got moving but not fast enough, 15 minutes later the truck was rolling away from the dock and the next afternoon the truck was unloaded by the shipper.

Out of everything I've learned so far about trucking, Lumpers are by far the thing that boils my blood the most. Not insurance, brokers, the Cartel, none of it as much as lumpers. I've never even had to use one, and it'll happen over my dead body. Not paying a third party corrupted bunch of ######## to do thirty minutes worth of work.

I got unloaded today be a pretty big front end loader. Could you imagine having to pay $300 in advance to get unloaded??? I wouldn't move an inch. I'd pop my straps and roll all that crap off there with my winch bar. Once the first one hit the deck and they realized I was serious, I'll bet they'd get their ### in gear.

Hate lumpers. Bunch of jackals. Good for you, @Ridgeline , those people need to understand who's actually in charge here. For every customer lost, and every shipper and receiver you're banned from, there's a thousand more waiting in line.

Complaining about a lumber fee is like complaining about the price of tea in China.

Why don't they just unload the truck, let the driver go, do what they gotta do,and get payment from the shipper over the phone.

And instead of sticking the driver with a pallet of OSD, they can hire a sprinter to deal with it.

Drivers would be pounding on their door begging to deliver to them. And oh by the way, driver shortage fixed.

    Lumpers are a ####ing scam.
200-300$ worth of work and take 5 hours.
No one speaks English so it’s hard to communicate with them.
Seems like they either don’t care if they work or not or they are on drugs.
Give me 200$ to unload at every stop and I bet I’m unloaded in 30minutes.

Don’t do loads that require a lumper, problem solved.
