Setting ISX injectors during overhead

This step is a very critical point in the adjustment. What ever method you choose I would make sure its calibrated.

 

I don't see why you can't use a beam wrench. Is there a place that can check the calibration?
The Snap-On trucks usually have a calibration tester.

 

While you are in there it might be a good idea to install a tune up kit for the engine brake.

 

I would say you should be Ok. Consistency is the key and not to over torque. Is the in- lbs scale large enough to be precise?

Maybe buy one of those cheap digital torque adapters to check it?

Don’t know if you have done the overhead yet since this post was a few months old but a beam torque wrench works.Just did mine a few weeks ago.Don’t know if you know about Cummins Quickserve which is free and literally shows you how to do everything including a rebuild on the engine.Also if you ever need Insite I have it.
