Must to echo Midwest trucker look for a Cummins dealer in your area. You want to pay once for a good rebuild.

I was thinking Inland Kenworth. Like which shop in their dealer network was the best?

Be careful when rebuilding Cummins engines. I JUST had mine rebuilt at Cummins and it only cost me 2k more than a NON-Cummins shop. The difference is with Cummins you get a nation-wide warranty that covers parts and labor anywhere in the US after it's all put back together.
Something to consider: If you rebuild at a KW dealership then you have to bring it back to a KW dealership that is affiliated with THAT particular dealership. Not all KW dealerships are connected with one another, however, ALL Cummins shops are. Pape KW is not connected with MHC KW for instance.
I had work done at NorCAL Kenworth in Anderson, CA and MHC Kenworth Salina, KS could not pull up any history; so to MHC KW in Salina KS I was a brand new customer even though I have had my truck worked on my various KW dealerships around the country. It's very frustrating.
I had additional engine work done to my engine after the in-frame, Cummins in Glen Burnie, MD could see everything that Cummins Gillette, WY had done, no problem. It was nice that my engine history follows me around the entire US.
Be safe,
