Kinda the way of life and nothing new. My Grandpa retired as a fire fighter and then went into trucking before he left the working world for good. Moving feight is probably one of the most secure ways to make a living. People in other fields tend to peak out on the pay scale and when companies start to find ways to make cuts the big salaries tend to hit the chopping block.
-
So on hometime you have to park the truck at a terminal?
-
I saw a truck with a spider on the front grill near the Vancouver terminal a few weeks ago. Could that have been you?
-
You summed it up pretty good I would guess, My 10 day is in Missoula JAn 13th and am very much looking forward to it. thanks again for the "look at reality"
-
hey snakeskin ya i am around 190th and Hawthorne kinda yer old stompin grounds. I go to Missoula on jan 13th so maybe we will see eachother. hopefully though since my 10 day will be up on the 23rd........I will have my truck and be goooooone.
-
yes, on hometime the truck should be paked at the terminal, unless other-wise cleard with your disp. for example, if you just got the truck and want to clean it on home time, or you got something like a fridge for the truck and it wont fit in your car then again you have to ask whatever disp zone your in for an OK, and best to have it done over the quallcomm to cover you back-side!

also, they may/not tell you that you have to put fuel in the truck and you wont get paid for those miles.Fooman Thanks this. -
If the truck with a spider was pulling a flat bed then ya it was me.
Like Soon2be said, he loves he road. I know theyd love to have him run out of Sayreville.
I was actually sitting in my truck and debating with myself on asking about the job when they called me.
Pulling flats I always took the truck home.
Some times I take it home with van but depends on the route im running that perticular trip.
We have a carpet customer thats 15 miles from my house and the route is within 4.5 miles of home.
I don't mind parking it at the term because the amount of days I stay out and the days I stay home it equals out to about 40 miles a day on the car. Pretty average for a 9-5 worker. -
Oh and soon2be, did you hear about the lease offer they are going to do for company drivers that want to get a W/S truck/trailer and run flat?
Such a joke lol. -
i did slightly...
seems as tho that guyS that say the flatbed is the " backbone " of the company were wrong.... perhaps a back brace is needed...
